Wolverines Deal Dea to Summerside

The Whitecourt Wolverines have traded 94-Defenseman Conner Dea to the Summerside Western Capitals of the Maritime Hockey League for future considerations. Dea will be going to a team that is continually one of the top Jr. A teams in Eastern Canada.

Dea played in 50 games for the Wolverines in their inaugural season in 2012-13 and registered one goal and 10 assists for 11 points. The Whitecourt, Alberta native spent the previous season with the Midget AAA St. Albert Raiders.

“We wish Conner all the best going to a fine organization like the Summerside Western Capitals. It is tough to lose a local player that we have watched through the years, but the situation for Conner is an exciting one to play quality hockey and enjoy a new life experience in the Maritimes. Conner played a big part in kicking off our inaugural season on the right foot and he was always a professional in front of the pressures of playing in his hometown,” said Wolverines Owner/President Brent Stark.

“We wish Conner well in this new chapter of his junior career and we know he will be in good hands with the Summerside Western Capitals. They have won a national championship and there is a lot of history with their organization. We hope that this move allows Conner to grow his game and enjoy the experience of what the Maritimes has to offer,” said Wolverines Vice-President/General Manager/Head Coach Joey Bouchard.
