The Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce forward Joey Melo (05) has signed an LOI for the 2023-24 season.
The Georgetown, ON, product is a 6’0” left shot forward who spent his first season of junior hockey playing for the South Shore Kings of the NCDC. As one of the younger players in the league Joey put up 19 points in 50 games. joey at one time was also a teammate of the Wolverines rookie of the year Aiden Long.
“We have been monitoring this player for quite some time and are elated he has decided to join our program, Joey will interject some needed speed into the lineup.” Says Wolverines GM/HC Shawn Martin
Melo shared his thoughts on joining the Wolverines “I feel fortunate to sign with a first class organization like the Wolverines. I am excited for this amazing opportunity and cannot wait to get started. I’m looking forward to continuing my development with the Wolverines.”
