Wolverines went into Sherwood Park for the fifth meeting of the season, Crusaders winning all four previous games.
Ryan Wallz opens the scoring at 15:40 of the first period after splitting the Cru defense and scoring over the glove of Gylander on a break away. Wolverines have the lead after 20 minutes outshooting the Cru 13-10 in the opening frame. Leslie wraps around the net and cuts down the center and beats Gylander but the referees later call is a no goal as the net was not in place prior to the play. Just minutes later Ben Wood picks up a giveaway from the Cru defense and scores glove side doubling the lead. Sherwood Park Crusaders get on the board duing a third period powerplay at 12:46 ,Arjun Atwal from Michael Benning and William Zapernick, cutting the Wolverines lead in half. Two minutes later Bryce Osepchuk reinstates the two goal lead on a 2 on 1 rush with a pass from Ethan Leyer and Ethan Green.
Wolves win 3-1 over Sherwood Park for the first time of the season, handing them their fourth loss of the season and ending their 10 game winning streak.
