The Whitecourt Wolverines Junior “A” Hockey Club are pleased to announce that Spencer Claerhout (Red Deer, Ab) and Kyle Tucker (St. Johns, NL) have been named Team Captains for this season. This is the 2nd time in Wolverines Team History that the team has named Co-Captains to start the season.
Both players are going into their 3rd season with the hockey club. The last time the Wolverines went with Co Captains was 2023-24 when Dylan Leslie and Colby Browne led the team to a regular season championship and the franchises 2nd league finals appearance.
Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin had this to say about this year’s captains “Both players are deserving of this honor and although very different both are in line with the same goal in mind. They have been through the highs and lows and that will be very important in navigating through the upcoming season.”
3rd year player Ty Rayan (Sherwood Park, AB), 2nd year players Jackson Degraves (Edmonton, AB) and Nathan Hawkins (Lethbridge, AB) will all be assistant captain this year.
Shawn Martin added this for the newly added group “Mature would be a good way to describe this group, they will do a great job on passing along our culture to the younger players.”
