The Wolverines punched their ticket to the Alberta Junior Hockey League Final series when they beat the Fort McMurray Oil Barons by a score of 6-3, Sunday evening on home ice and became the North Division Champions.
The Wolverines will face their South Division Rivals, the Brooks Bandits in a battle for the Gas Drive Cup. The best of seven series will start on Friday, April 14 in Brooks for two games. The Wolverines and Bandits will then come back to Whitecourt for games 3 & 4. All games in Brooks will have a 7:00 PM start while Whitecourt games will start at 7:30 PM.
This is the first time the Wolverines have moved past the North Division Finals and onto the League Championship series in their 5 year franchise history. The Wolverines look forward to entertaining their fans and battling the best of the South in the AJHL Championship series.
