Whitecourt Wolverines Updated Leadership group

Whitecourt, AB – The Whitecourt Wolverines 2018/2019 leadership group saw some changes moving into January.  The newly announced captain and the tenth player to be given the role in Wolverines history is freshly acquired, Adam Sandstrom. The Whitecourt Wolverines acquired the 1999-born defenseman and future considerations from Bonnyville Pontiacs in exchange for 1998-born defenceman Matthew Monk November 16th, 2018.
From Red Deer, Alberta, the 6’3” defenseman is in his second season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Adam Sandstrom has played 78 games for the Bonnyville Pontiacs for a combined total of 7 goals and 27 assists. Before joining the Pontiacs in 2017-2018, Sandstrom played for Red Deer Chiefs Midget AAA.
Joining the team’s leadership core, alongside Sandstrom, are alternate captains Jude Butler, and Brayden Labant.
Butler is entering his second season as a member of the Wolverines. From Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, the 6'0″ right winger is in his second season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Butler has played 86 games as a Wolverine tallying 23 points.
Labant is in his third year in the Alberta Junior Hockey league and his second as a Whitecourt Wolverine. The 6'1″ forward is from St. Paul, Alberta.  He has a combined total of 139 games in the AJHL, 105 with the Whitecourt Wolverines, with a combined 59 points. The season prior to joining the Wolverines he played for Camrose Kodiaks before going to Spruce Grove Saints. Brayden Labant's younger brother Kurtis is also playing with the Wolverines this season.
