Wolverines Bolster Coaching Staff

The Whitecourt Wolverines are pleased to announce the hiring of Travis Gibson as the team’s new goaltender consultant and video coach.

Gibson, a Sherwood Park native, comes to the team bringing a wealth of experience in hockey operations and coaching.

Previously, Gibson has worked as a scout for several scouting services, the Victoria Royals, Lloydminster Bobcats and Okotoks Oilers; He has also been an associate coach at the Bantam and Midget AAA levels with the Maple Leaf Athletic Club and Canadian Athletic Club in Edmonton over the past 5 years.

In addition to working with club teams, Gibson has been a goalie coach with the Above the Crease Goaltending factory in Edmonton.  In 2012 Gibson began his own player development company, Champion Hockey Development, running a 20-week off-season development program for minor hockey players.

Gibson’s playing career as a goalender saw stints in the AJHL, MJHL and CJHL (Jr. B).

The Wolverines are excited to have Travis join the organization and the community of Whitecourt.
