Whitecourt- The Whitecourt Wolverines have acquired Vincent Duplessis (99) from the Swan Valley Stampeders in the MJHL. Although he was acquired through Swan Valley, last season Vincent played 20 games for the Merritt Centennials in the BCHL. He compiled a 3.21 GAA, and a .906 save percentage. From Quebec City, Vincent played his midget hockey for Bishops College in the MPHL.
“When it became apparent that we needed an experienced goalie for this season, we cast a fairly wide net to make sure we were looking at all options available, and Vincent’s name came to the forefront fairly quickly” stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
Going the other way will be fan favourite Tommy Cardinal (99).
“Tommy is a great kid that did everything that we asked for last year, obviously with the 20-year-old limitations we had to make a difficult decision but needed to prioritize goaltending”. “He will get a great opportunity to play a lot of key minutes in Swan Valley.”.
The Whitecourt Wolverines would like to thank Tommy and would like to welcome Vincent to the community.
