The Whitecourt Wolverines Junior “A” Hockey Club are pleased to announce that they have acquired Travis Verbeek (04) from the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL. The Flesherton, ONT, product split last season between the Thunder and the Brooks Bandits playing in 49 games and contributing 21 points.
“We have been watching Travis for a couple of years and feel he is on the cusp of breaking out at our level.” stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
Travis had this to say about the move to Whitecourt “I am extremely excited to become a Wolverine. I have heard nothing but great things about the Town of Whitecourt and the Wolverines organization. I cannot wait to get started.”
Going back to the Thunder is (04) defenceman Evan Smutney. “Evan is a great kid that worked hard everyday, unfortunately we have made some moves to our blueline, and we had to make a decision.”
