The Whitecourt Wolverines Junior “A” Hockey Club are pleased to announce that they have acquired Matthew Gallant (04) from the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL.
Originally from Langley, BC, the right shot defender has 7 points in 12 games this season with the Thunder while also playing in 3 games for the Seattle Thunderbirds. Prior to his time in Drayton Valley Matthew, has played 179 games in the WHL with the Moose Jaw Warriors and Edmonton Oil Kings.
“We are excited to add a dynamic player like this to our blue line, Matthew had many options but chose Whitecourt to finish his 20-year-old season and chase an AJHL championship.” stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
Going back to the Thunder is (05) defenceman Reid Larson.
“One of the hardest decisions I have had to make in my time in Whitecourt, the Thunder are getting not just a quality player but an unbelievable person in Reid, I wish him all the best in his future.”
