The Whitecourt Wolverines are pleased to announce that 2002 born Defenceman Mathew Magrath has Signed a Letter of Intent with the hockey club. The Prince George, British Columbia product, played the last two seasons with his hometown Cariboo Cougars in the BCMMHL. Last season Mathew compiled 20 points in 40 games while eating a lot of key minutes for the Cougars.
Head Coach Shawn Martin had this to say, ?After the Mac?s tournament this year, our scouting and coaching staff identified Mathew as a key recruit moving forward.? ?After losing three left-shot defencemen, this offseason adding a player like him is very important, and we will be very excited to see him in a Wolverines uniform.?
Mathew had this to add about his commitment, ?I?m excited to join the Wolverines organization and cannot wait to get onto the ice with my new teammates.?
