The Whitecourt Wolverines are pleased to announce that 2002 Forward Thomas Vela has signed a Letter of Intent with the hockey club. The Burnaby, British Columbia product, played in the BCMMHL for the last two years. Last season with the Vancouver NE Chiefs Thomas compiled 40 points in 28 games, which allowed him to have the fifth-highest point per game total in the BCMMHL. As well Thomas scored 22 goals in 28 games, which placed him in the league’s top 10 goal scorers despite playing at least ten games less than all other top 10 scorers.
Head Coach Shawn Martin had this to say, “Thomas is a very dynamic offensive player that reminds us a bit of Kaleb Ergang, we think he can develop into a very good AJHL player.”
Thomas added that he is very excited to join the Wolverines Hockey Club.
The Wolverines organization would like to welcome Thomas and his family to the Wolverines program and wish him the most success in his future development.
