The Alberta Ford Dealers AJHL Player of the Month for February 2024 is Travis Verbeek. The Wolverines forward and University of Alaska Anchorage (NCAA) commit led the AJHL with 17 points (5G, 12A) in seven games.
Travis Verbeek (2004) built a seven-game point streak from January 28th to February 24th, which included five multi-point games, and a career high five-point game on February 24th. He scored three game winning goals through the month and is tied for a league-leading eight game winners on the season. Verbeek led the Wolverines to a 7-1 record in February.
Verbeeks 8 game winning goals also sets a single season franchise record for the Wolverines surpassing the mark left by Jaedon Leslie (7)
Travis was recognized as the Pizza 73 AJHL Player of the Week for the week of February 5th-11th and the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game three times throughout the month. Verbeek completed the regular season sixth overall in scoring with 60 points (28G, 32A) in 55 games played.
The Whitecourt Wolverines have captured the Dave Duchak Trophy as the Alberta Junior Hockey League Regular Season Champions for the first time in franchise history.
