There has been a familiar face around the Scott Safety Center since the team has resumed play.
Former Captain and current Ottawa Gee Gee, Adam Sandstom, has joined the staff as a graduate assistant coach and will help the team out in many capacities.
Adam was a two-time Team Top Defenceman and Team MVP last season for the Wolverines. Sandstrom was nominated for the AJHL Top Defenceman Award last season as well before securing a spot on the Ottawa Gee Gees.
“Adam reached out after the USports season was cancelled and wanted to see if there was a fit for him coming back to help out this season. After talking it over with the Owner, Brent, we felt we did have a need as Malcolm Heaven (Equipment Manager) and Darcy Charrois (Assistant Coach) were unable to commit to our cohort fully due to their full-time jobs” Stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin
“Those two guys do a lot for our program and sometimes it goes unnoticed, having Adam around has helped a lot to fill that void”. added Martin
