Whitecourt Wolverines Hockey Staff Announcements

Coming off of a successful first season in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, the Whitecourt Wolverines have announced changes to their hockey staff.

 

Wolverines General Manager/Head Coach Joey Bouchard welcomes back Head Scout Brad Morgan with titles of Governor and Director of Player Personnel added. Morgan served as Whitecourt’s Head Scout during the 2012-13 season and has scouting experience in the Western Hockey League, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and International Scouting Services, as well as management experience in the British Columbia Hockey League, North American Hockey League and Central Hockey League.

 

Bouchard is proud to announce that Darcy Charrois will serve as the Wolverines’ Associate Coach/Associate General Manager and returns to Whitecourt where he played two seasons in the North West Junior Hockey League with the Whitecourt Wolverines and has recently graduated from Arizona State University where he played three seasons for the Arizona State Sun Devils of the American Collegiate Hockey Association. Charrois began his college career at Dakota College in Bottineau, North Dakota before transferring to Arizona State University. Charrois also has experience with the National Hockey League’s Phoenix Coyotes as a Video Scout.

 

Dan Lajoie joins the Wolverines as Director of Athletic Performance. Lajoie is also the Director of Athletic Performance and Co-Owner of Athletes Nation in St. Albert, Alberta and holds a Bachelor of Science and is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Lajoie is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach and a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach with Distinction, which is the highest level of certification in Professional Sports Athlete Training.  Lajoie currently trains several professional and junior hockey players including Jarome Iginla of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

 

Tim Smith returns to the Wolverines as Skill Development Coach. Smith was a stand-out in the Western Hockey League and had a successful professional career. Jason Bouchard also joins the Wolverines as a Skill Development Coach. Bouchard played four seasons for the Drayton Valley Thunder and won an AJHL title with the Thunder during the 2001-2002 season.

 

The Wolverines scouting staff for the 2013-14 season consists of Glenn Barre,           Dan Bouchard, Andrew Koch, Chad Martin, Larry Moberg, Richard Molenaar, Pierre Parent, Derek Ryan, Al Skauge, Tyler Stubbs, Derek Sweet-Coulter and Ryan Whelen.      

 

Devin Rideout will join the Wolverines as Video Operations Coordinator. Rideout is currently enrolled in the Sports Management program with Sports Management Worldwide.   

 

Troy Ryan returns as the Wolverines’ Athletic Trainer, Malcolm Heaven as Head Equipment Manager and Ken Roncin as Assistant Equipment Manager.
