The Whitecourt Wolverines have had Matt Sanders (01) returned to them via the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League. The Wolverines acquired Matt from the Okotoks Oilers just prior to the December 1st trade deadline last season. After he reported to Whitecourt, he was then recalled by the Blades and completed the season with them. He has played over 75 WHL games with Moose Jaw and Saskatoon to go along with his 20 games of AJHL action with the Oilers. In those 20 games with Okotoks, Matt added 10 points before his recall.
?We were very excited to add Matt back in December, and it was tough losing him so quickly, but I know he is very excited to get back to Whitecourt and help the team achieve our goals for this season,? stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
Matt had this to say about returning to Whitecourt, ?I am extremely excited about rejoining the Wolverines for the upcoming season. I truly believe that this team has the potential to do something special and compete for a championship; I cannot wait for the season to get started.?
