Wolverines Trade for a Goaltender on December 1st Trade Deadline Day

Whitecourt, AB – The Whitecourt Wolverines have acquired 1998-born goaltender Sam-Jaxon Visscher from the Nipawin Hawks (SJHL) in exchange for 1997-born forward Michael Spenrath and future considerations.


Visscher, a product of St. Albert, Alberta, is in his first year of junior hockey and had started four games for Nipawin this season compiling a record of 2-0-1-1 with a 2.20 goals against average and .920 save percentage.


Last year, Visscher played his final year of midget AAA hockey with the Knights of Columbus Pats based in Edmonton.


In a separate move, the team has traded 1997-born defenceman Ryan Markovic to the Miramichi Timberwolves (MHL).

The Wolverines (21-7-4) next home game is this Friday against the Calgary Mustangs (3-23-1), puck drop is at 7:30pm.
