The Wolverines who brought their record to 21-25-2 with a thrashing win on the country’s #2 team by beating the “MOB” by a score of 7-2.

Captain Colten Mayor set the stage early by capitalizing on the Power Play on a rebound from Matthew Abt and Gianni Mangone, for his team leading 24th goal of the season.

The Boys in Red would take control in the 2nd period and wouldn’t look back from there as The Wolverines saw goals from Jordan Davies (7), Trace Elson (16,17) & Sam Lawson (12. The Oil Barons would get on the board, before Trace Elson got his second of the game, on a goal in which would be credited to Brett McNeil after a weak shot would go off of a Wolverine skate to beat Mac Engle who appeared in his 19th game of the season. Engle would go on to make 28 saves and win his 5th game of the season.

The Wolverines would take a 5-1 lead heading into the 3rd period however, that would be all for Oil Barons goaltender Tanner Jaillet who allowed 5 goals on 28 shots.

The Wolverines would be outshot in the 3rd period 10-2. Jesse Gordichuk who had relieved Jaillet only faced 2 shots however both shots would get past Gordichuk. Joel Herbert would continue the surge by tallying his 12th of the season shorthanded. Mitchell Vanderlaan would answer back and score the only other goal for the Oil Barons.
