Whitecourt, AB – The Whitecourt Wolverines have signed 1997-born goaltender Xavier Potvin.
Potvin, a Sherbrooke, Quebec product, has spent the last two seasons playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens and Quebec Remparts.
Over 62 games in the QMJHL he compiled a record of 26-17-7 with a 3.17 goals against average, an .893 save percentage and one shutout.
His 2.82 goals against average this past season ranked eighth among all QMJHL goaltenders.
Potvin is the son of former NHL goaltender Felix Potvin.
