Whitecourt, AB – The Whitecourt Wolverines (31-18-6) dropped their second straight game on home ice Monday afternoon as they fell 4-2 to the Grande Prairie Storm (25-26-3)

The Wolverines trailed the game 2-0 through 40 minutes of play as the Storm got a shorthanded goal from Walker Cote midway through the first period and late second-period goal from Zachary Okabe.

The Storm added to their lead early in the third period as Edouard Michaud fired home a power play goal in the opening minutes.  Less than 90 seconds later the Wolverines got on the board as Spencer Augot hammered home a point shot after a goalmouth scramble at the Storm net.  Three minutes later the Storm grabbed back their three-goal advantage as Dallas Comeau deposited another power play goal.  With just over four minutes to play in the third period, Liam Motley brought the Wolverines back to within two goals as he buried a breakaway opportunity but that would be as close as the Wolverines would come.

The Wolverines are back in action Friday night at 7:30 p.m. when they welcome the Fort McMurray Oil Barons (39-12-4) to Whitecourt.
