Wolverines Listed as 9th in the Country This Week

The Whitecourt Wolverines have moved up to 9th place in the Pointstreak CJHL Standings this week. The Wolverines joined the top 20 teams on Nov 23, 2015 and have spent seven consecutive weeks on the rankings list. The Wolverines occupied 16th spot for the first 3 weeks and then moved up one spot to 15. The next two weeks saw them drop to number 20 but after three wins and 6 points this past week the Wolverines have made a huge leap in the standings and now sit at number 9 in the Country.

The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) is made up of 10 Junior A hockey leagues, which makes up 131 teams across Canada. To be rated as the ninth best team in Canada is an enormous accomplishment for the Wolverines who now sit in second place in the Alberta Junior Hockey Leagues (AJHL) Viterra North Division Standings. With 66 points, the Wolverines are only 3 points behind their rivals, the Spruce Grove Saints and they have created a noticeable divide between 2, 3rd and 4th place.

The Wolverines are currently on a seven game winning streak which matches their franchise best. They'll be looking to extend that streak this weekend as they take their game on the road to Bonnyville on Friday, January 15th and then to Fort McMurray on Saturday, January 16th.
