Wolverines fall short in South Division tilt.

GAME RECAP:â?¨

The Whitecourt Wolverines paid a visit to the Kaylee Forsen Friday night as they took on the Camrose Kodiaks. Camrose came out of the gate strong controlling the first 8 minutes of the first period out shooting the Wolverines 7-0. After the first half both teams continued to go back and forth battling hard, and looking for the games first tally. However it was the Kodiaks striking first at the 15:58 mark when Brett Njaa picked up a loose puck and put it by a scrambling Mac Engle who was making his 15th start of the season.

The Wolverines would even the game 2 minutes 8 seconds later when a streaking Matthew Abt would come into the offensive zone, cut to the middle, and beat Devin McDonald for his 5th of the season.

Both teams would exchange numerous scoring chances in the second period, with Camrose killing off 2 penalty’s and the Wolverines killing off one. It would be the Wolverines that outshot Camrose 19-10 in the period but, unfortunately they couldn’t beat McDonald.â?¨

The 3rd period wouldn’t be kind to the red and white as the Wolverines would get called for cross checking at the 3:58 mark, which would lead to what would be the winner for Camrose as Tanner MacMaster would strike on the power play 4:21 into the period.â?¨â?¨

The Wolverines fall to 19-22-2 on the season in a very close North Division.
