Wolverine Defenseman Named on NHL Central Scouting 2015 Final Rankings

 

Former Whitecourt Wolverine Defenseman James Vermeulen has been listed on the 2015 NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings Report. Vermeulen is ranked at number 203 among North American skaters for the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. The draft will be held June 26 & 27 in Sunrise, Florida.

Vermeulen played 106 career games in two seasons with the Wolverines where he recorded 2 goals and 11 assists along with 165 penalty minutes. For his outstanding play, Vermeulen was rewarded heavily in the 2014/15 season. He was invited to the Canada West Selection Camp for the World Junior ‘A’ Challenge, participated in the CJHL’s top prospects game, named to the AJHL’s North Division All-League Team and was named as the Wolverines MVP and Top Defenseman.

Vermeulen will be playing at Northern Michigan University for the 2015/16 season.
