Wolverines def Bobcats, take 2-1 series lead.

The Whitecourt Wolverines took the momentum they gained from Game 2 and used it to defeat the Lloydminster Bobcats 5-1 in front of 983 fans who were treated to a show in Game 3.

Both teams thrilled the crowd with their back and forth, hard hitting style of play however, neither team would be able to get the first tally of the game in the first period.
The second frame would be all Wolverines with the help of the special team units. Ryan Berlin would be sprung shorthanded by Joel Herbert as Berlin would notch his 3rd goal of the post season beating net minder Devin Green. Shortly after, The Wolverines found themselves on a 5 on 3 power play that saw them capitalize twice on goals from Matthew Abt (1) & Joel Herbert (1). That would be all for Devin Green as Sean Kuehn would replace Green, Kuehn would be the 3rd goaltender to make an appearance in the series for the Bobcats.

The Wolverines would bring a 3-0 lead into the 3rd period and would see themselves strike again on the power play, this time it would be Colten Mayor who put his 3rd goal of the post season past Kuehn at the 8:56 marker of the frame.

The Bobcats would finally get on the board as Whitecourt native Tyler Kunz would put a shot from the point past Riley Corbin who started his 1st career playoff game for the Wolverines stopping 23 of 24 shots and would improve his post season record to 2-0. Jacob Schofield would put home the final marker for the Wolverines as a scramble in front of Kuehn would see Schofield notch his first goal of the post season to complete the 5-1 victory and send the Lloydminster Bobcats to the brink of elimination.

Game 4 of the best of 5 series will go tomorrow at the Scott Safety Centre, game time is at 7pm.
