The Whitecourt Wolverines Junior “A” Hockey Club are pleased to announce that they have committed 6’3” goalie Matt Schoephoerster (04) to the hockey club.
The Eagan, Minnesota, product played 18 games last season with the St. Thomas Academy Cadets who are members of the USHS in Minnesota. Matt had a 2.66 GAA to go along with a .897 Save Percentage.
“Matt will add to our recent past of excellent AJHL goalies, our ability to run with two goalies last year was a huge benefit come playoff time and we believe the tandem of Carson and Matt can do the same.” stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
Goalie Coach Jamie McCaig had this to add “Matt is a very intriguing prospect, and I am excited to get to work with him.”
Matt had this to say about his decsion “I’m very glad to join the Wolverine family, Whitecourt has a long tradition of putting highly competitive teams on the ice and are a big part of the community.”
