Wolverines Bring Coetzee Home

Whitecourt, AB – The Whitecourt Wolverines have acquired 1997-born forward Estian Coetzee from the Olds Grizzlys in a three-way trade that sends 1999-born forward Marc-Antoine Benoit to the Drayton Valley Thunder.

This will mark Coetzee’s second tour of duty with the Wolverines after appearing in 26 regular season games and 20 post-season games with the club during the 2016/2017 season.  During last year's run to the league final, Coetzee chipped in 3 goals, two of which came in series clinching wins against the Spruce Grove Saints and Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

Coetzee began this season playing with the Olds Grizzlys and lead the team in scoring with 11 goals and 9 assists in just 17 games.  His 20 points this season places him 22nd in league scoring while his 11 goals are 8th most currently in the league.

The Fort McMurray, Alberta native is in his third season in the AJHL and has played in 105 career games scoring 27 goals and 33 assists.

The Wolverines next home game is Tuesday November 14th against the Sherwood Park Crusaders.  Beat the box office and purchase your tickets in advance right here.
