The Whitecourt Wolverines Junior “A” Hockey Club are pleased to announce that Jalen Bianchet (05) Forward has been named as the team’s next captain.
Jalen a graduate of the Ajax/Pickering Raiders U18 AAA program is going into his 3rd and final season with the Wolverines. Last season Jalen had a great year leading the Wolverines in scoring with 55 points in 52 games. He also led the team in playoff scoring with 11 points in 9 playoff games.
Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin had this to say about the leadership announcement, “Jalen had many opportunities to leave Whitecourt and try other options this off-season, his decision to return for his final year is the ultimate team decision.”
Martin adds “It has been a breath of fresh air to deal with an individual and family that prioritizes loyalty and ultimately winning, I am beyond excited to be able to coach Jalen for one more year and watch him lead this group.”
Jalen added this “I am honored and excited to be named captain of such a great team and organization. Wearing the “C” is a privilege and I am very thankful of this opportunity. I love the Whitecourt community and can’t wait to get back on the ice with the team and work towards our goal of a national championship.”
