Wolverines Announce Assistant Coach & Hockey Ops Staff for 2025/26

The Whitecourt Wolverines are excited to announce the coaching staff for the upcoming season, assisting Head Coach & GM, Shawn Martin. The newest team member will be Assistant Coach, Daine Dubois.

Daine has spent time in the AJHL as a player for two seasons with the Bonnyville Pontiacs. He also played on the AJHL Selects team in 2019. After his time in Bonnyville, the Williams Lake, BC, product secured a scholarship to play NCAA Division 1 hockey at Long Island University. After his time at LIU, he played U-Sports hockey at Trinity Western University where he graduated with a Sports Management Degree.

“They say you never know when your being watched, but I always respected Daine as a player when we played Bonnyville. He reminds me a lot of where Bryson was a couple years ago career wise, and I am confident he will not only help with our team but also continue building the relationship between the Wolverines and minor hockey within the community.” Stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin

Daine had this to say about joining the Wolverines. “I am extremely excited to be joining the Wolverines organization. I look forward to contributing to the team success any way I can both on and off the ice. My girlfriend Abigail, baby Ayla and I are incredibly excited to become apart of such a great community.”

The Wolverines would also like to add that Assistant Coaches Mat Hehr and Jaedon Leslie will continue to help the team on a part time basis. Athletic Therapist Tyler “Indiana” Jones will be returning for a 3rd season with the club and Malcolm Heaven will be continuing his streak as the teams longest serving member.
