The Whitecourt Wolverines Junior “A” Hockey Club are pleased to announce that they have added Zac Onyskiw (04) for the upcoming season. The 6’1 netminder from Edmonton, ALTA, has spent the last three seasons playing for the Spruce Grove Saints, formerly of the AJHL.
During his time in Spruce Grove Zac compiled a record of 38 wins, 15 losses and 7 losses in overtime/shootout. In regular season play Zac put up a 2.44 GAA and a .909 SV%, but the post-season is where Zac shines by improving those numbers to a 1.13 GAA and a .956 sv%.
“With Ben moving on we started to hunt for his replacement, after we found out that Zac was available, we started the process. He has been an absolute thorn in our side the past couple of seasons and we are ecstatic that he is joining us in Whitecourt.” stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
Zac had this to stay on making his way up highway #43 “I’m thrilled to join the Wolverines for the upcoming season. With my 3 years of experience in the AJHL I am eager to bring my all, both on and off the ice and help this team achieve the goal of winning a championship. I look forward to working with the coaches and my teammates and cannot wait to contribute to the Wolverines success this season."
