The Whitecourt Wolverines Junior “A” Hockey Club are pleased to announce that Luke McKechnie has signed an LOI for the upcoming season.
The Lumsden, Saskatchewan product spent the last 2 seasons with the Moose Jaw Warriors U18AAA team. Last season Luke finished top 5 in the SMAAAHL in Games Played, GAA and Save %, while also leading the province in Wins with 22. Luke was also named SMAAAHL Top Goaltender and named to the SMAAAHL First All-Star Team.
“Luke is a very good goalie and can win games which is very important. He showed that he really wanted to be a Wolverine which is very important to us.” stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
Luke had this to say about joining the Wolverines “I am honoured to have the opportunity to play for a great organization like Whitecourt this upcoming season. I am looking forward to contributing to the team’s success, developing my skills, and building relationships with my teammates and coaches. I can’t wait to get started and make the most of this experience”
