The Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League are pleased to announce that 09′ defenceman, Ryder Schnitzler, of Sherwood Park, ALTA, has committed to the Wolverines for the upcoming season.
The 5’11″ defenceman has suited up the last two seasons with the U18 AEHL AAA Sherwood Park Kings. Ryder collected 42 points in 70 games while also adding 7 points in 13 playoff games. The left shot rear-guard was also drafted selected in the 9th round of the 2024 WHL Draft by the Prince George Cougars.
Schnitzler, joins Tristan Slywka and Ty Rayan as recent former Sherwood Park Kings that have graduated to the Wolverines.
“Ryder is a very smart player, with the puck and defensively. He is going to develop into a very good defenceman in our league.” said Wolverines Head Coach and GM, Shawn Martin.
Schnitzler add “I am honored and grateful for this opportunity, I have only heard great things about Whitecourt and cannot wait to see what the future holds.”
