The Whitecourt Wolverines Junior “A” Hockey Club are pleased to announce that they have acquired Xander Schulte (05) and Preston Lewis (06) from the Devon Xtreme of the AJHL.
From Onoway, ALTA, the 6’2 power forward has compiled 54 points and 354 penalty minutes in his time in the AJHL. Prior to his time in Devon, Xander, also suited up with the Drayton Valley Thunder and Whitecourt Wolverines.
“We are excited to add Xander to the team, he is a big body and knows how to play in the North Division.” stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
Xander had this to say about joining the team “I’m super excited to be back in Whitecourt and cannot wait to get to work with a great bunch of guys that have been playing great hockey this year. Can’t wait to see where the season takes us.”
Preston is in his 2nd year backstopping the Xtreme and is currently in Prince George of the WHL. From Salmon Arm, BC, Preston currently has a record of 8 wins and 9 losses with a 3.07 GAA and .913 SV percent.
Martin says “Preston is a top tier goalie at the Junior A level, and he has always played well against us. We are excited to add him to the group and can’t wait to see his performance in a Wolverines jersey.”
Preston had this to add “I am excited to get started and grateful for this opportunity. I can’t wait to get to work and meet the team and staff.”
Going back to the Xtreme is (06) forward Wyatt Ball and (07) goalie Luke McKechnie.
“When we broke at the break the last thing I thought was these two players would not be on the team when we started back in 2026. They are both great kids that are going to become big parts of the team in Devon. I wish them all the best moving forward.” stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
