Whitecourt, AB – The Whitecourt Wolverines have acquired 1999-born forward Caden Benson from the Lloydminster Bobcats as completion of a previous trade.
Benson, a Stony Plain, Alberta product, is entering his second year in the Alberta Junior Hockey League after appearing in games for both the Bobcats and Spruce Grove Saints last year. In 40 games last year he picked up three goals and seven assists to go along with 27 penalty minutes.
Prior to the start of his junior hockey career, Benson played his midget-AAA hockey with the St. Albert Raiders. During the 2015-2016 season, he appeared in 33 games with the Raiders collecting 10 goals and eight assists.
The trade completes the future considerations owed to the Wolverines by the Bobcats for the January 6th, 2017 trade of Rob Johnson.
