Wolverines Acquire Forward Cory Santoro

The Whitecourt Wolverines are pleased to announce the acquisition of 19-year-old forward Cory Santoro from the Bonnyville Pontiacs as completion of a previous trade that saw Luke Mahura join the Wolverines on December 11th, 2014.

The Kelowna, B.C. native registered 8 goals and 11 assists in 53 games last year, his first in the Alberta Junior Hockey League.  The 6’1, 185 pound forward was an integral part of the Bonnyville Pontiacs north final playoff appearance this past season.

Prior to beginning his AJHL career, Santoro played midget AAA with the Okanagan Rockets for two seasons.  In his final season with the Rockets, Santoro was named an alternate captain and helped lead the team to a bronze medal at the 2014 Telus Cup in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  In 78 career games with the Rockets, Santoro had 32 goals and 39 assists.

The entire Wolverines organization would like to welcome Cory to Whitecourt.
