The Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce 2005-born defenceman and Whitecourt Resident Gunnar Evarts has committed to the team for the 2021-22 season.
Evarts is currently playing for the St. Albert U18 AAA Raiders of the AEHL U18 AAA Hockey League. Currently this season he is leading all Raiders defenceman in scoring and is 3rd in the entire AEHL for defenceman scoring with 6 points in 6 games.
“Gunnar has progressed a lot in the past year and luckily we have had some scouts that have been watching him closely” said Wolverines Head Coach and GM, Shawn Martin.
“I know myself; Brent and the entire organization are excited to add a local area product with such a bright future like Gunnar to the hockey club”.
“I would like to thank the Wolverines, my family, coaches, and friends, for helping me reach this destination” stated Gunnar.
