Evan Warmington scored two goals and led the way for the Wolverines in their 5-2 victory Tuesday night over Bonnyville.
After a scoreless first period, Brodyn Nielsen opened the scoring for Whitecourt at 7:23 of the second period with assists to Mitch Owsley and Joel Kocur. Clay Spencer then scored at 10:07 from Jacob Schofield and Brandon Switzer to make it 2-0 Whitecourt. Bonnyville scored late in the second period to make it 2-1 heading into the third period.
Evan Warmington scored short-handed at 1:13 of the third period from Joel Herbert to make it 3-1 Whitecourt. Matthew Abt recorded the next Whitecourt goal at 4:00 from Jacob Schofield and after a Bonnyville goal at 7:59, Evan Warmington closed out the scoring at 17:13 from Ben Fonteyne and Joel Herbert to make the final score 5-2 for Whitecourt. Tanner Kovacs was solid in goal for Whitecourt, stopping 27 of 29 shots for the win.
Next action for Whitecourt comes at home this Friday vs. Calgary Mustangs (7:00 pm) and Saturday vs. Drayton Valley (7:00 pm).
