20-year-old forward Travis Verbeek has received a scholarship to attend Laurier University to play for the Golden Hawks. Travis played three seasons in the AJHL, the last two in Whitecourt. Travis is top 10 all time in franchise history with 97 points in 91 games. He was also named a 2nd team AJHL all star in the 2023-24 season.
“Travis has been a great Wolverine, he was a guy that bled black and red, and it showed in every game.” stated Head Coach Shawn Martin.
Martin adds “He came to Whitecourt with the hopes of playing post secondary hockey and he has accomplished that; we wish him the best of luck next season.”
Travis had this to say about his commitment. “I’m very excited and honored to announce my commitment to Laurier University. I would like to thank all my coaches, teammates, friends and especially my family that has helped me along the way. I cannot wait to get started.”
On behalf of the Wolverines organization, we want to congratulate Travis and his family on this achievement and thank him for his service in Whitecourt. Questions can be directed to Shawn Martin Head Coach/Gm at 780.893.0535
