Wolverines forward Xander Schulte has committed to attend the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology who play in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference. They have been crowned ACAC champions 16 times in their storied history.
Xander started and finished his Junior “A” career with the Wolverines suiting up initially for the club in 2021/22. Schulte had stops in Bonnyville, Drayton Valley and Devon before coming back to Whitecourt. He finishes his time in the AJHL with 159 regular season and playoff games, picking up 32 goals and 83 points.
The Onoway, ALTA, product was acquired in January of this past season to add size and experience for the playoff push. Xander compiled 16 points in 18 games after he was added. Playoffs are where Xander truly impacted the team even more adding 13 points in 16 games.
It’s not the end but a new beginning says Schulte “I want to thank Whitecourt for a good and fun end to my Junior career. It’s not where we wanted to finish but I feel like we’re also going to do great things at NAIT. I can’t wait to start making new memories and to start working towards the next season.”
“Points don’t always tell how valuable a player can be to your team, Xander added another dynamic of physicality to our team that helped us especially in the Fort Mac and GP playoff rounds. Xander will be a big contributor at NAIT I am sure of that.” Stated Head Coach and GM Shawn Martin.
