Assistant Captain Ryan Wallz (00) will be continuing his hockey and academic journey joining Iowa State who competes at the ACHA Division I level in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League.
The Calgary, Alberta product played 121 AJHL games including 56 for the Wolverines. In those 56 games Ryan compiled 38 points, adding 6 points in 6 playoff games during the 2019-20 season, enroute to earning the teams Top Playoff Performer Award.
“I have known Ryan now for four years and couldn’t be prouder of this accomplishment made by him.” stated Head Coach Shawn Martin.
Martin adds “In my mind he is one of the more underrated players I have coached and am excited to see what he does at the next level.”
Ryan had this to say about his time in Whitecourt.
“Thank you, Whitecourt for the past 2 years. I am extremely grateful to have played for such a first-class organization and to be around so many great people from ownership, coaches and teammates.”
“Thanks to my billet family for giving me a home away from home and I will always cherish the memories I made during my time here and will forever be thankful of my time as a Wolverine”.
