Russell Commits to Wolverines

The Whitecourt Wolverines of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) are pleased to announce 2006-born forward Mason Russell has committed to the team for the 2024-25 season.

A native of Langley, BC, Mason played the last two seasons for the Langley Trappers of the PJHL. The 6’1 forward led his team in scoring with 46 points in 46 games. The Trappers have a good reputation in developing players into the AJHL, the last player that the Wolverines had that went through there program was University of North Dakota Commit and fan favorite Tanner Komzak.

“Mason brings a lot of intangibles that will make him successful as a Wolverine. We are excited that he chose Whitecourt and I believe our fans will be too.” said Wolverines Head Coach and GM, Shawn Martin.

“I am excited to be joining Whitecourt for this upcoming season and look forward to being apart of this organization to continue my junior career” stated Mason.
