Onyskiw named CJHL Goaltender of the Year

The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Tuesday that Zac Onyskiw of the Whitecourt Wolverines (AJHL) has been named its Top Goaltender Award winner for the 2024-25 season.

 

Zac is the first Whitecourt Wolverine to capture a CJHL award. Onyskiw was prior named the AJHL’s Top Goaltender & MVP and is also nominated for MVP in the CJHL.

 

The 4-year-veteran Onyskiw, lead the AJHL in all major statistical categories posting a 26-7-4 record with a 1.87GAA the lowest in the league since 2016-17 and setting a league record for SV% at .939 surpassing the old mark of .935%.

 

Zac leaves the AJHL with 100GP, a record of 64-23-9, .933SV%, 1.91GAA and 10 shutouts. He will attend MacEwan University (CIS) alongside another former Wolverines netminder Carson Ironside next season.
