Mustangs Beat Wolverines in Whitecourt

The Calgary Mustangs were in high gear and came away with a 6-3 victory over the Wolverines in Whitecourt on Friday night.

 

Calgary took full control of the game in the first period by scoring four unanswered goals to take a 4-0 lead into the second period.

 

Ryan Berlin got the Wolverines on the board when he scored at 3:57 of the second period from Colten Mayor. Calgary got another goal at 14:09 of the second period to stake them to a 5-1 lead heading into the third period.

 

Joel Herbert scored at 13:38 of the third period from Matthew Abt and Jordan Davies scored at 15:46 from Clay Spencer and Colten Mayor, making the score 5-3, but Calgary would add a late goal to make the final score 6-3. Mac Engel and Tanner Kovacs shared duties in goal for the Wolverines.

 

Next action for the Wolverines comes on Saturday when they host the Drayton Valley Thunder in a 7:00 pm start.
