The Whitecourt Wolverines have added Randen Schmidt (00) to the team for the upcoming season. Randen has spent his entire junior career with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL). Over the last three seasons, Randen has played 129 games and has compiled 20 points. Before his time with the Blades, the Regina native played for his hometown AAA Pat Canadians, playing two seasons and ended up playing in the Telus Cup his second year.
“Having four defencemen commit to college this offseason, we knew we had to add some experience, which is exactly what Randen brings. Talking to former coaches and teammates of his, they all rave about the character he brings to a dressing room; we are excited that he decided to join us,” stated Head Coach/GM Shawn Martin.
Randen had this to say about joining the Wolverines, “I’m excited to be joining the Wolverines and the winning culture that has been established in Whitecourt. I’m really looking forward to playing my last year of junior with a team I believe has the potential to do something special."
