Outstanding Defenceman (W.G. (Bill) Scott Memorial Trophy) Presented by the Alberta Ford Dealers

Defenceman Caleb MacDonald has some hardware to add to his trophy case after a record setting season as a Wolverine.  For the first time ever, a Wolverine is taking home the Most Outstanding Defenceman award.  Caleb MacDonald is the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Outstanding Defenceman and recipient of the W.G. MacDonald (2002) leads the Wolverines this season as both an alternate captain on the leadership group and in points (57).  The third-year Wolverine is second in scoring among AJHL defencemen with an average of 1.0 points per game (7G, 50A).

MacDonald (Cambridge, ON) was also nominated as a finalist for AJHL MVP and has committed to the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (NCAA) for 2023-24.

Wolverines GM/HC Shawn Martin had this to say “Caleb’s development since he has arrived in Whitecourt has been nothing short of unbelievable, he has spent countless hours becoming a better player and seeing him get rewarded firstly with a division 1 scholarship and now this award is a great testament to himself and the Wolverines organization.  On a personal Level I could not be more proud of Caleb’s achievements this season and he will leave a lasting legacy behind in Whitecourt for years to come.”
