Double Header in Bonnyville vs the Pontiacs
Whitecourt Wolverines made thier first trip to Bonnyville on November 22 for their fifth and sixth meeting with the club. The first two games in Whitecourt on home opener weekend were forced to shoot outs for a decision, each team walking away with a win. Pontiacs won in regulation at showcase and Wolverines won on home ice back in October. Pontiacs are in third place coming into the weekends game with the Wolverines trailing by six points in fourth in the north division.
November 22
Vincent Duplessis and Easton Hesse started in the pipes for tonight’s contest. Once again tonight’s game quickly turned into a very offensive game and the battle of the net with shots final tallying 38-37 for Whitecourt.
Whitecourt Wolverines Kaleb Ergang opened the scoring at 12:43 from Tyler Mahan and Bjorn Robinson. Pontiacs score two quick goals midway through the second period,Connors on the powerplay and Ray added a second less than 2 minutes later. Labant capitalizes on a power play at 14:44 to even the score. Cassidy Bowes scores just 30 seconds into the third period which would prove to be the game winning goal. Final score 3-2 Whitecourt.
Hesse and Duplessis were tonight’s viterra stars of the game.
November 23
Pontiacs get on the board early in the second game of the double header with Thorne scoring at 52 seconds. Labant would net his 3 goal in 3 games to tie the game at 14:59 from Mahon. Wyatt would reinstate Bonnyville’s lead just one minute into the second. Ergang would score his seventh goal of the season unassisted at 17:39. Anderson puts the Wolverines ahead just 30 seconds later with a goal assisted by Bowes. Five minutes into the third period, Anderson gets his 8th goal of the season short handed from Bowes to double the Wolverines lead. Dubois of the Pontiacs puts them within one when he scored thirty seconds later. Very late in the third period the Wolverines would take a penalty where at 19:19 Dubois would even the game up and force overtime yet again. Nothing could be decided in overtime and these clubs were off to their 3 shoot out of the year. Kaleb Ergang and Daine Dubois both would not score as the first chosen shooters. Thorne, McKim and Macaulay would all find the back of the net for the Pontiacs after. While Labant and Bowes would score for the Wolverines, Robinson, the 4th shooter, is stopped by Hesse to end the shoot out at 4 shooters.
Wolverines come home with three of the four possible points on the weekend edging closer to the third place spot in the north.

Wolverines will hit the road again this week for their first south roadtrip with a Thursday game in Drumheller, a Friday game in Canmore and a Saturday game in Okotoks.
