Round one shifts to the Casman centre in Fort McMurray for game 3 and 4. Wolverines took a 2-0 series lead on home ice over the Barons coming into the road contests. 2020 Inter Pipeline AJHL Playoffs Round one is a best of seven series. Ergang returned to the lineup in tonight’s game. Vincent Duplessis and  Evan Fradette each got their third consecutive starts in net during the playoff series. 

Wolverines would outshoot the Barons in the first period 13-12 but no goals would be recorded. Fort McMurray Oil Barons take the lead early in the second period at 3:52 – Hunter Leslie from Ethan Jones and Breydon Berthold. The Barons lead would be brief as Whitecourt Wolverines Tyler Mahan would score just over a minute later on a cross ice feed from Ryan Wallz. Whitecourt Wolverines would take their first lead of the game at 6:49 on the power play from Bryce Osepchuk, assisted by Ryan Wallz and Will Spitzer. Two minutes later Sam Anderson would add an insurance goal on an end to end rush from Ryan Wallz and Will Spitzer. Fort McMurray Oil Barons made a late push to tie the game and on a 6/3 with Fradette out of the net at 19:22 (PP) – Michael Hodge from Tyler Wallace and Brendan Stafford but the MOB would come up short. 

Wolverines take a 3-0 series lead after tonight’s game and just need one more win to close out the best of seven series. Game 4 is at the Casman Centre March 5 at 7:30PM.
