Wolverines Defenseman Matthew Gallant has committed to attend the University of Regina to play for the Cougars. The Cougars plays in the Canadian West Division of the Usports Conference and are led by 1st year Head Coach Trevor Keeper.
After 3 years in the WHL, Matthew, was added at the Jan 10th deadline from the Drayton Valley Thunder. Matthew compiled 8 points in 14 games last season with the Wolverines.
“Matthew changed his game to help us win games.” “He became a big part of our dressing room in his short time here and I’m sure he will do the same at the U of R.”
Matthew had this to say about to commitment “Coming to Whitecourt was a good opportunity and provided an opportunity do get a lot of eyes on me for my last year of junior. The staff and billets were amazing, and I cannot thank them enough. I am excited to stay at home and continue my hockey career.”
