Whitecourt Wolverines goaltender Ben Charette has captured the “Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey League” award as the AJHL’s top goaltender this year. Voted on by the coaches/GM’s across the league, Ben put together a phenomenal season for the Whitecourt Wolverines capturing 20 wins and 4 shutouts while leading the league in both GAA (2.40) and SV% (.925)

Charette was also a part of the trio for Whitecourt who earned the CCM Top Goaltenders award for combined team GAA with Lukas Renaud and Nick Avakyan.

Wolverines HC/GM Shawn Martin had this to say about his netminder “Ben came to the team focused on helping the teams and himself, he has accomplished a lot in the last year and a half while overcoming injuries along the way.”

Shawn adds “This is a very well deserved honour for Ben after already achieving his dream of playing NCAA Division 1 Hockey next season.”

Ben says “I am honoured to receive this award from the AJHL and I couldn’t have done it without my teammates, coaches, team staff, family and friends. This year has been extremely enjoyable thanks to everyone involved with the Wolverines organization. I’m excited for a long playoff run with the boys. ”

The Wolverines organization would like to congratulate Ben and his family on his latest accomplishment. Any questions can be directed to HC/GM Shawn Martin 780.893.0535
